(working title)

Copperdog (WT) is a feature length documentary that follows three teams of mushers as they train for the annual Copperdog Dog Sled Race held in March in the upper peninsula of Michigan and discovers what it takes to be a musher in a field often criticized for its treatment of animals.

The film explores the relationship between the dogs and their trainers as we see new born puppies begin their lives as sled dogs, while following the current teams as they prepare for their next race. Over the course of the year we see the challenges faced by the team, focus on the bond between the animals and their humans, and observe the everyday lives of people committed to this lifestyle.
